If you are in Vimmerby you must visit "Bullerbyn".

It was here in “Bullerbyn”, Astrid Lindgren had her thoughts when she wrote about the "children in Bullerbyn". Astrid´s father Samuel August grew up in Mellangården and owned a time both Sörgården and Norrgården togheter with his brother in law. However, it is not her father's childhood she describes in the books about the Bullerby childern, its her own childhood during the twenties.

When it became current with a newly filmproduction about the childern in Bullerbyn, they couldn´t they  find a better place than Sevedstorp, the “correct” Bullerbyn.

In 1986 they begun to film the winter scenes , it applied to fit meanwhile there was snow. Outdoors the scenes are filmed in Sevedstorp "Bullerbyn" or in the surroundings. The indoorscenes are not filmed in the houses, because at that time where permanent domiciled. The only scene that was played in the houses are when Anna and Lisa will run away, and Anna arouses Lisa through drawing in a string.

The villagers took part as walker on and the children that was going in Pelarne school, contribute as schoolchildren in the film.

Olles dog Svipp, was played at first of a dog that was called Acke. He believed that one said sit each time someone said Svipp, so after approximately the half production time, they replaced Acke against another dog. This dog was however lighter in the fur, so in order to get a darker colour they smeared him in with sho polish.
